Lauren Peters
Founder & Creative Director
Hi, I’m so glad you’re here. 🤍
Sunbeam Creative Community is deeply personal to me, and it began during one of the hardest seasons of my life.
After losing my son, Lincoln, I found myself searching for light—something steady to hold onto when everything felt heavy. And one day, a sunbeam came through the window. It was simple, quiet, and unexpected… but it reminded me that even in grief, light still finds its way in.
That moment became the heart behind the name Sunbeam.
Art has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. I’ve always loved creating, trying new things, working with my hands, learning through exploration. But as I got older, I allowed perfectionism, fear of judgment, and the busyness of life to push creativity aside.
Somewhere along the way, I started treating creativity like it was optional… like something you do only when you have extra time, or when life is calm, or when everything else is done.
But I’ve learned that creativity isn’t extra: it’s important.
Creativity helps us express what we’re feeling. It helps us learn. It helps us build confidence. And it reminds us that we’re capable of growth, even when life feels overwhelming.
I looked forward to creating with Lincoln so much. I imagined doing crafts together, painting together, laughing together, and watching him explore the world through creativity. And while that isn’t the story I got to live out the way I expected, Sunbeam gives me a way to honor his legacy by creating with others.
It gives me space to use my mother’s heart by creating a place where kids feel encouraged, where parents feel supported, and where creativity becomes something families can share.
My mission is simple: to partner with others in unlocking their creativity.
Whether you’re bringing your child to their first craft class, planning a party, or showing up for yourself because you want to learn something new there is room for you here.
Welcome to Sunbeam Creative Community. 🤍
